Bill Gullickson delivered 7 solid innings as the Cleveland Buckeyes bested the
Chicago Fire 5 to 3 at Municipal Stadium.
Cleveland tallied 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. The crucial at-bat
was provided by Kirk Gibson who made the crowd happy when he hit a 'grand
salami' to the delight of his teammates. Chicago had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.
