Right fielder George Hendrick homered and had 3 RBI and Mike Norris tossed a
complete game as the Erie Seawolves topped the Sacramento Red Sox in 11
innings by a score of 3 to 2 at Erie Park.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Erie came out on
top in the 11th inning. George Brett tripled. Hendrick came to the plate
and stroked a single resulting in an exciting win for Erie and a raucous
post-game celebration by the home town fans. The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
The win went to Norris(5-2) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Rick Camp(0-1) was
the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 3 hits and 1 walk in 2 innings.
