WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: Willie Davis robbed Bill Freehan of a Homerun!
Hank Aaron launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Steve Hargan mowed down 10
San Francisco batters as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the San Francisco
Golden Seals 4 to 0 at Angel Stadium.
The Los Angeles fans enjoyed the offense provided by Aaron. He smashed a
two-run homer in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger (his 4th of the
season) in the 6th inning and doubled in the 8th inning. Los Angeles had
only 6 hits for the game.
Hargan(1-0) went the distance for the shutout. Frank Bertaina(0-1) was the
loser. 'Everything felt great' Hargan said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I
could throw it by everybody today.'
