separated the combatants at game's end. The Boston Beaneaters won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Boston ended up winning
it in the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Max Alvis drew a walk.
Tim McCarver was next and he delivered a base-hit. McCarver took second on
the throw. Danny Cater then slapped a single resulting in an exciting win
for Boston and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Boston
totaled 9 on the night.
