IBB- D.Strawberry (by D.Mohorcic, 8th inning)
The Portland Beavers cruised to a 11 to 4 victory over the Montreal Expos at
Fenway Park.
A hugely decisive outburst by Portland in the top of the 8th inning quieted
any Montreal hopes for a victory when they blasted Montreal for 8 runs on 4
hits. The big moment was provided by Joe Carter who quieted the home crowd
when he quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam. Portland banged out 8
hits on the night.
The winning pitcher was Mark Davis(2-0) who allowed 2 runs in 3 innings. Danny
Jackson(3-1) was the loser. He gave up 4 runs and 2 hits in 7 innings.
