Johnny Ray had 2 base hits as the Montreal Expos defeated the Pittsburgh
Pirates by the score of 2 to 1 at Fenway Park.
Montreal had 2 runs cross the plate in the 3rd inning. The early run support
proved sufficient for Danny Jackson(1-0) and Montreal. That was all the run
support Jackson required. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as
neither team was able to score again.
Jackson got relief help from Larry Andersen who gained credit for his 1st
save. Bob Walk(0-1) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 2 runs and 6 hits
in 7 and 1/3 innings.
